Aroview: The Shaw Brothers' first international star, Lo Leih, excels in this horror-suspenser as a mad lampshade maker in olden-day China who enacts an insanely vindictive plan to create lampshades from the skins of the mistresses and wives of a hated rival. Shaw Brothers production is again luridly up to scratch, with a flamboyant score to match the ultra-trash storyline.
