Cry Wolf

Aroview: Inventive, if light on truly scary moments, this slasher suspenser is set in a posh American prep school, where bored teenagers concoct a fictional psychopathic stalker for fun and games, only to have a real psycho go on the rampage.

Featuring a cast of young newcomers, this tries hard with its plotting and succeeds to keep you guessing to the final twist as to who is kidding who, and how much of the time. Much of this is due to an up-to-date depiction of cellphone gadgetry and 'messaging', but dir. Wadlow also pulls a few classically-devised set-pieces out of the bag. Jon Bon Jovi appears in a supporting role as one of the teaching staff.
