Wal-Mart - The High Cost of Low Price
Aroview: Although rough around the edges, this documentary expose of the business, employment and environmental practices of giant American retail corporation Wal-Mart, is a worthy and passionate entry in dir. Greenwald's growing list of hard-hitting films attacking the ethics of American politicians, business and media.
Marshalling a huge array of interviews with underpaid employees, small retailers who have been run out of business and footage of the appalling Asian sweatshops where Wal-Mart sources many ultra-cheap products, this conveys a dense patchwork of testimony and criticism. If the expert analysis lacks a similar range, one at least comes away feeling concerned (if not outraged) at another facet of globalism.
