Aroview: Gender-bender road drama with a winning central performance by 'Desperate Housewife' Felicity Huffman as a transsexual about to take the final step into becoming a woman, before discovering that she has a long-lost son (Zegers), who happens to be stuck in a New York jail.

Rearranging priorities, Huffman is pledged to transport her son - who turns out to be a teenage hustler - back to Kentucky and somehow confess her true identity along the way. Although fringed with some winning comic absurdities, this manages to retain its integrity throughout and Huffman's award-nominated turn is convincingly complex.
