Across the Bridge

Aroview: An underrated and little-known thriller with Steiger playing a shady accountant on the run from the FBI and Scotland Yard, who tries to make his escape into Mexico aboard a train and kills another passenger in order to steal his identity.

Although fulfilling suspense requirements, this is chiefly notable for Steiger's ace depiction of his character gradually suffering a mental breakdown as he seeks to escape the closing net of the law, blackmail attempts and unlucky circumstance. From the novel by Graham Greene.
