Protocols of Zion
Aroview: An alarming examination of the widespread post-9/11 rumour that Jewish workers at the World Trade Centre, New York City, were forewarned of the attacks and as a result, none perished.
First heard by Levin from a taxi-driver, he pursues the rumour into various dens of casual and organised anti-semitism - including prisons, talkback radio stations and white supremacist groups - finding its root in the infamous forgery 'The Protocols of the Elders of Zion', a hoax document fabricated around 1900 and widely disseminated (including by Henry Ford and Adolf Hitler). Levin pursues his jaw-dropping subject through disbelief, humour and finally dismay at the abiding racialist dimensions of contemporary life.
