Factotum
Aroview: The most droll and tender adaptation of Charles Bukowski's fiction to date has a stocky Matt Dillon chronicle the meandering adventures of 'Hank Chinaski', a wannabe poet living in a Los Angeles world of lone-wolf bravado, wild women and utterly banal day-jobs.
Whether reacting to the challenge of delivering ice, dusting public statues or dealing with hot-tempered girlfriends, Dillon demonstrates a polished nonchalance, lending the film much of its hardboiled attitude. Still, as he navigates the passage of time and vagaries of love, his struggles to craft poetry attain a fitting depth. Lensed in sleek, saturated visuals by the dir. of KITCHEN STORIES.
