A Home of Your Own

UK 1964, 43 minutes
Dir. Jay Lewis
Rating: [G]
Genres: Classics, Comedy

Aroview: Classic 1960s slapstick about a cavalier construction team working on a new housing estate, this began a fruitful trend for 'wordless' English film comedy and influenced the likes of Eric Sykes and Rowan Atkinson. The surreal antics of the builders reach an inspired height with cement-layer Ronnie Barker (then a comparitive unknown), becoming disastrously frustrated with his task.

Originally released as a double-feature with A SHOT IN THE DARK.
