Overnight
Aroview: One-time screenwriter Troy Duffy's Hollywood career trainwreck is excruciatingly detailed in this documentary that lays bare how the scribe of the Tarantino-esque BOONDOCK SAINTS failed to keep his 'overnight' success in perspective.
Promised movie deals by Harvey Weinstein of Miramax, Duffy got his own rock-band managers to document his impending rise to greatness on video, footage which forms the bulk of this documentary. Inflated by ego, Duffy quickly alienates friends and family, then, as the business and music deals fall through, moves into self-destruction mode. Ugly and compelling, this reveals a side of human nature rarely seen in such detail.
