Aroview: The much-loved series in which Leo McKern portrayed the rumpled lawyer - created by playwright Sir John Mortimer - who attacks his cases at the Old Bailey in London with eloquent, literate and dipsomaniacal relish. With crimes and clients providing a constant stream of interest, McKern was most memorably kept in check by his wife, whom he dubbed "She who must be obeyed".
