Taming of the Shrew, The (Shakespeare Retold)

Aroview: An updated version of Shakespeare's comedy by the makers of THE CANTERBURY TALES (2003) series, has Shirley Henderson play a bitchy and ambitious MP who is matched with a flamboyant Earl (Sewell) in a series of romantic match-hatchings. Upping the slapstick quotient on other entires in the 'Retold' series, this is perhaps the most outrightly entertaining, although missing some of the ironies present in the Bard's original text.
