Dir. Frank Capra
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Documentary / War

Aroview: Old boy Frank Capra directed seven raging propaganda films between ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE for the rhetorically-dubbed "Why We Fight" series, commissioned by the US government during the height of WWII. Leni Riefenstahl's TRIUMPH OF THE WILL apparently scared the crap out of Frank, compelling the populist director to fire up the troops with these alarming examples of wartime fear and loathing.
