At Home With The Braithwaites (TV Series)
Aroview: A self-consciously offbeat domestic drama revolving around the dysfunctional minefield of the Braithwaite household, familial relations that are further thrown into chaos by the matriarch of the clan winning 38 million pounds in the lottery, but deciding to keep the windfall to herself.
The Braithwaite's are memorably conceived and played, including three daughters that range from bratty to promiscuous to sexually confused, and their strung out father who enjoys a bit on the side. But it's the unleashed, high-stakes trajectory of the series' narrative, known for careening from melodrama to soap-scandel to shocking plot twists in the space of a single episode, that earns this top marks in the field of family dysfunction.
Season One: 6 episodes across two discs.
