Hellbent

Aroview: Curiously queer-themed slasher flick is surprisingly non-camp, and instead offers an intense throwback to old school slice-and-dice, with conflated erotic and violent streaks as a group of gay young men celebrate Halloween in West Hollywood.

The film begins with two men murdered on a date, later discovered to be the victims of a serial killer who exclusively targets the gay community. Dylan Fergus heads an appealing cast, and while the deaths evoke the diversity of problems that effect queer society, this is straight-up enough to cross the sexual divide.
