Radical Digital Cinema - Vol. 1
Aroview: The brainchild of Wim Wenders, this digital cinema incubator provides a supportive framework for young filmmakers to push the envelope of the revolutionary format. The first two German films in the project are presented here:
‘Egoshooter’ (Christian Becker/Oliver Schwabe, 2004) – A 19-year-old’s sordid, boredom-laden existence is relayed in a mixture of video diary confessions and narrative reveals, presented under the guise of a fragmented and detached reality.
‘Half the Rent’ (Marc Ottiker, 2002) – Also considering the nature of fractured realities is this peculiar, sometimes assuming chronicle of an insular computer hacker’s emotional paralysis after the sudden death of his girlfriend.
