General Idi Amin Dada
Aroview: General Idi Amin Dada’s narcissism is serviced willingly by an intrigued Barbet Schroeder, focusing his camera on the lunatic dictator during his notorious Ugandan reign in the seventies, most recently brought to the screen by Forest Whittaker in THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND.
Subtitled ‘A Self Portrait’, this is most fascinating as an insight into delusion and self-obsession, with Amin Dada’s full blessing behind the documentary urging it into bizarre and often alarming autobiographical territory (even going as far to provide the film’s score).
