State of Things, The
Aroview: Reliving the personal turmoil of his first American production (HAMMETT), Wenders fashions a scathing yet oddly comedic film-within-a-film, dramatising the woes of a fictional European auteur’s attempts to shoot a remake of Roger Corman’s DAY THE WORLD ENDED under the dictatorial gaze of Hollywood producers. Samuel Fuller plays a crack cinematographer.
