Book of Revelation, The
Aroview: Daring, if not entirely coherent gender-subversion recalls in flashback the ordeal of a talented male dancer (Long) who's abducted, tortured and humiliated by three hooded women.
Blending cruel realities with a dream-like surrealism, this assumes the formula of a rape-revenge movie by its second half, framed tenuously within a sexual political discourse. Disturbingly treads new ground, though in failing to draw sympathy out of its traumatized lead, lacks the necessary thrust to sustain its initially shocking premise. From the dir. of the equally transgressive HEAD ON.
