Brothers and Sisters (TV Series)

Aroview: The deceptively normal lives of the Walker clan make for compelling viewing in this layered family drama about the political disparity between adult siblings and their ultra conservative mother (played staunchly by Sally Field).

A minefield of current affairs and contemporary hotpoints (terrorism, the War in Iraq, the Bush administration), this is ambitious in its topicality, though perhaps a little too unfocused and uptight as an ensemble character piece, despite its heavyweight cast.
