Aroview: A worthy, mildly refreshing addition to the youth angst genre, concerning a clique of present-day Bristol teens negotiating the pitfalls of coming-of-age in a new millennium.

Marketed as a serial for the “MySpace generation”, its British setting and less-precocious/obnoxious roll call of teenagers (lead by ABOUT A BOY’s Nicholas Hoult, but otherwise cast with fresh-faced unknowns) will resonate more closely with children of the 90s, even if its ensemble of characters tends to fall into the usual disaffected stereotypes.

Series Three and Five onwards refresh the original cast with an all-new set of teenagers.
