Saawariya
Aroview: Notable for being the first mainstream Hindi movie to be funded by a U.S. studio, this stylistically decadent romance of unrequited love and desire between two star-crossed lovers yields up visually splendiferous rewards while being a touch light in the plot department.
Situated in a mythical city, hued in moody blacks and blues, and brimming with the requisite song-and-dance routines, this adaptation of Dostoyevsky's short story 'White Nights' doesn't quite have the synaesthetic kick to bolster up its rudimentary, hokily rehashed storyline, yet should still appeal to audiences wanting to get their Bollywood fix.
