Aroview: The belated return of Indiana Jones for another thrilling adventure quest, this time to find the crystal skull in Peru before the Soviets get their greedy mitts on it. It's surprising how little Ford has aged since the first films, still maintaining the ability to throw himself around the set with the same exuberance and cheeky grin that cemented him in movie history.
Karen Allen's return as Indy's old flame is a wise reprise, along with new additions - a feisty Shia LaBeouf and ice-cold Cate Blanchett rounding out an impressive cast line-up. The strengths of this film lie in its top-notch action sequences and snatched moments of humour, but questionable spfx and plot holes in the second half threaten to take some of the sheen off this timeless franchise.

3 stars (Good Enough) Too goofy, and Shia LaBeouf really isn't that good. On the other hand, Cate Blanchett makes a great villain, and the return of Karen Allen is great. The updating of the series to the 5os is very well done. ~dr.strangelove
3 stars (Good Enough) Another Indiana Jones adventure, beginning just as strongly as others in the series, but later taking a sci-fi turn for the worst. The 'feel' and action are essentially the same, but the story is simply too far-fetched. ~Tom H
3 stars (Good Enough) The set designs are terrific from the period street scenes to those underground among the cobwebs and skeletons. A talented supporting cast includes the great John Hurt who raises his character above what it would have been in other hands. ~Tubbs
