You Don't Mess With The Zohan
Aroview: Banned by censors in Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, this trademark silly Adam Sandler vehicle stars him as a former Israeli army agent who decides to follow his dream and move to NYC to become a hairdresser...at a Palestinian salon.
With Judd Apatow on the writing team, this indulges, nay, glorifies in the crass absurdity that's become Sandler's specialty, raising quite a few chuckles through inspired idiocy and Sandler's reluctance to take himself all that seriously. The joke-a-minute tomfoolery wears itself out by the end, and there's a tendency to fall back on lazy stereotyping, but as far as nonsensical farce goes it could be far worse.
