X-Files - I Want to Believe

Aroview: The second big screen outing for the X-Files crew, 10 years on, with former FBI agents Mulder and Scully recruited onto a case involving psychic visions that will require them to once more utilise all their paranormal know-how.

With Mulder and Scully now shacked up, the tantalising 'will they, won’t they' ambiguity of the TV series is lamentably missing, though the pair still work wonders with little more than a shared look, while the ominous cinematography retains the show’s trademark spooky paranoia. True believers won’t be let down, but on the whole the ideas feel a bit ho-hum, with not enough urgency to capture the imagination of non-converts.
