Baker, The
Aroview: Parochial fish-out-of-water comedy places wanted hitman Damian Lewis as the new village baker in a kooky Welsh community populated by off-the-wall locals.
Dodging nosy neighbours and contract killers while taking time out to reassess his life priorities (and knead a few loafs of bread in the process), Lewis’s well-groomed features and disarming demeanor make him the perfect screwball lead – although for the most part the actor has to make do with piecemeal comedy sketches and a village-idiot supporting cast. Directed by brother Gareth.

3 stars (Good Enough) The screenplay is not original but Lewis and Ashfield work very well together in this likeable off beat comedy. ~Tubbs
