Under the Same Moon

Aroview: Stirring drama following Carlitos (Alonso) a young boy living in Mexico and his mother Rosario (del Castillo) living in LA, and their epic journey to reunite with one another across the boarder.

As a tale about the struggles of illegal immigrants in America this is akin to being bashed over the head with a morality stick, pairing melodrama with a particularly poignant, honest performance from child actor Alonso, and although it's all painted in broad strokes (Rosario's snooty British boss is nicknamed 'Cruella de Ville'), the brutal truth of the central pair's plight is never short of heart-wrenching.
