Aroview: Two best friends - the pride of the local rowing club - find their loyalties and chances of winning threatened, as one gets serious about his girlfriend and the other realises he's in love with his friend.

The film made quite a splash in its native Germany, as the lead actor was a big star and caught headlines by admitting he’d had some 'real life' homosexual experiences. It distinguishes itself from the teen ‘coming out’ milieu by satisfyingly portraying the awkward and painful process of a sporty adolescent struggling to come to terms with his sexuality. Plus it captures the authenticity of teenagers (gay or straight) coming of age, against a beautifully photographed backdrop.
