A Film With Me In It
Aroview: Wonderfully droll vehicle for the amiable, slightly-sozzled comic persona of Dylan Moran, who stars as a down-at-heel actor who becomes a hapless victim of a series of fateful incidents in a dilapidated Dublin flat.
The film is in fact the brainchild of Moran's co-star, Mark Doherty, whose good-natured screen presence also runs through the tone of his script, which gets funnier as things go from bad to worse in classic black comedy tradition. While it could be described as a bastard child of WITHNAIL AND I and SHALLOW GRAVE, the premise still feels like it hasn't quite been done before, and it's smart enough to quit while it's ahead. Supports Amy Huberman and Keith Allen are also to die for.
