Catch Us If You Can
Aroview: Surprisingly downbeat comedy vehicle for pop band the Dave Clark Five sees a stuntman (Clark) for a pro-meat commercial run away with its star (Ferris) and road-trip through a 60s-era Britain together. More an observation of the futility of youthful rebellion than comedic romp, dir. Boorman keeps boorish 60s archetypes (square, hipster etc) out of the picture, his 1960s more an accurate snapshot of cultural upheaval than romanticized ideal. Dave Clark Five music kept strictly in the background.
