Aroview: Celebrated filmmaker Emir Kusturica (BLACK CAT, WHITE CAT) directs this wayward love letter to the revolutionary - and troubled - Argentine footballer Diego Maradona.

Less sports documentary than biopic (with plenty of artistic license), soccer fanatics may come away feeling short-changed given the film’s sole emphasis on Maradona’s infamous World Cup-winning ‘Hand of God’ and apologetic view of his decline into drugs addiction and celebrity excess. Nonetheless, Kusturica is an engaging, if slightly obsessive presence throughout, idolizing Maradona through the process of movie making while revealing an unseen, confessional side to the footballing god.
