What Just Happened

Aroview: Robert De Niro is in late-career-best form in this amiable showbiz satire that captures two weeks in the life of a frustrated film producer trying to get his latest picture finished in the thick of Hollywood politics.

Variously obstructed by spoiled actors, temperamental directors, hard-nosed executives, paranoid agents, and high-maintenance wives and ex-wives, this perhaps trades in the usual satirical suspects, but its sense of fun is not limited to only those-in-the-know. Featuring good-sport cameos by Sean Penn and Bruce Willis, this is Hollywood nibbling the hand that feeds without too much self-indulgence.

Based on the memoir by Art Linson (who also wrote the screenplay), producer of HEAT, THE EDGE and FIGHT CLUB, to name a few.
