Tim Minchin - Ready For This?
Aroview: Back on home turf at the Enmore theatre in Sydney, stand-up piano man Tim Minchin delivers with an all new set of edgy musical-comedy that matches his extraordinary debut pound for blasphemous pound, laugh for neurotic laugh, and note for virtuoso note.
Ballsy without ever being vulgar, Minchin's rapier-like wit savages certain cultural and social institutions, whilst again shamelessly ransacking his private life for stage-worthy material. A couple of tracks overlap from his earlier show "So Live" and these come off less well, and the opening number is a bit of a fizzer, but Minchin proves that he has talent to burn with gems like "Storm" and the ballad, "White Wine in the Sun".

3 stars (Good Enough) This is more Tim Minchin, although coming across less original, smart, or funny as he was in 'So Live', apart from the fantastic beat poem 'Storm', which is one of my all-time favourites. ~Tom H
