Aroview: Brit film noir set in a dark and dirty Brighton sees a scheming landlady (Withers) befriend a young chemist's assistant in order to obtain poison to kill her husband. Although the main narrative is ultimately drowned by too many subplots, this is notable for Withers' powerhouse performance as the treacherous femme fatale; one in only a handful of memorable British banshees.
