Aroview: Public fear (or gullibility) was exposed with this hoax science report proposing three drastic alternatives to then-emerging hysteria around the greenhouse effect (now known as global warming).

While apparently spoofing Orson Welles’ infamous ‘War of the Worlds’ radio play, viewers were oblivious to the broadcast’s conspicuous cast of actors and faux-scientific hypotheses, including ridding the earth of its population or fleeing the planet altogether. On the lighter side of THE WAR GAMES’ grim, catastrophic forewarning.
