Four Days in July

UK 1984, 99 minutes
Dir. Mike Leigh
Genres: Drama

Aroview: A largely apolitical, if not humanist take on Northern Ireland strife, from the viewpoint of two couples and their respective Catholic and Protestant tribes.

Converging around the annual Loyalist parades, dir. Leigh settles on unlikely humour and rich characterizations to paint his picture of a divided community. Originally broadcast on the BBC's 'Play for Today' series.
