Last Stop For Paul
Aroview: Global road-movie-on-a-shoestring follows two friends as they travel to more than 20 countries to scatter their friend's ashes, with the Full Moon Party in Thailand as their final destination.
While it yields better-than-expected results for a film shot by the actors themselves, and the winner of a string of minor festival awards, the acting is unconvincing and the comedy contrived and juvenile. Neither documentary nor fiction and therefore neither fish nor foul, this misses the sincerity and depth of a good travel doc, and that elusive wit that defines the buddy road comedy it desperately wants to be.
