Time Without Pity
Aroview: Nervy noir has Michael Redgrave in top form as an alcoholic father racing against time to save his son from the gallows.
Somewhat dated thriller is partly a polemic against the death penalty but also an examination of frayed paternal bonds, and it's on the latter theme that its particularly strong. On a technical level pic boasts terrific Freddie Francis cinematography and demonstrates Losey's flair for dynamic compositions.
