Burning Season, The
Aroview: Ever-urgent documentary on the climate-change problem tracks “environmental entrepreneur” Dorjee Sun’s efforts to seal a major carbon trading deal, one that will protect both the Indonesian rain forest and its orangutan population.
The film’s most fascinating (and morally questionable) subject comes in the form of the wildly determined Sun, whose ulterior motive behind conservation is revealed to be a money making one. Nonetheless, his commitment to the cause provides ample material to underscore the plight of the rain forest and its wildlife, as well as illustrating the rationale behind carbon trading as an environmental band-aid.
