Aroview: Unusual teen comedy with school dweeb Kaplan desperate for a date to the prom and given that he's living in a retirement community his chances aren't good.

Peculiar debut feature for dir. Hecker suggest AMERICAN PIE as written by Niel Simon. There's some nice visual jokes and the occasional moment of pathos, but the film is also littered with "quirky'' characters and a strong sense of condescension towards them.
