George Gently (TV Series)

Aroview: Retro policier with a superb attention to detail, starring Martin Shaw as the eponymous inspector whose old-school detective methods are caught up in the changing times of the 60s.

Though not as downtrodden as the RED RIDING TRILOGY, this fashions a similar, North Eastern atmosphere in corruption and discontentment, while also being an excellent recreation of the period.
