Everybody's Fine
Aroview: Sincere remake of the Italian drama with De Niro stepping into Marcello Mastroianni's shoes as the widower travelling across country to visit his estranged children.
If one can ignore its shameless tearjerker ambitions, this works thanks to a surprisingly constrained performance from De Niro, who imbues his widower with a quietly affecting melencholy. The rest of the characters are mostly passable, excluding Drew Barrymore, who is as magnetic as always as the 'Las Vegas dancer' daughter.
