Anything for Her
Aroview: Cracking French thriller sees a happy couple's marriage torn apart when the wife is sent to prison for murder. Convinced of her innocence, her husband plots to break her out.
Tempering its action-melodrama with pathos and believability, this is exemplary genre film-making made compulsively watchable by the underseen Vincent Lindon as the morally complex protagonist. With its ticking time-bomb pace, and refreshing lack of contrived twists, it has American remake written all over it - but don't wait for it, there's little room for improvement here.
