Priest Of Love

Aroview: Ian McKellen stars as D.H Lawrence in this biopic, chronicling the author's tempestuous relationship with his wife Frieda (Suzman), and his battle against censorship.

McKellen certainly looks the part, although Lawrence remains a rather 2D, ambiguous character throughout. Janet Suzman however, is a credible Frieda, and imbues the film with the spark it needs to keep us interested in the otherwise chaste proceedings.
