Axe in the Attic, The
Aroview: Two British filmmakers, horrified by the devastation to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, embark on a 60-day pilgrimage from New England to Louisiana to document the tragedy's many controversies.
An ambitious project for a pair of outsiders, the film risks simplifying the complexities of it's subject, and is somewhat weighed down with the on-screen arguments of the two directors, who indulgently deliberate time-worn ethical concerns such as how much personal aid they should offer to the victims they encounter. However they remain committed to exposing a wide range of perspectives, with particular focus on the lack of government support which contributed to this largely preventable man-made disaster.
