Aroview: Fashion icon Coco Chanel and composer Igor Stravinsky share a passionate, illicit love affair in this lavish period romance, which more or less takes up where COCO AVANT CHANEL left off.
The film opens promisingly with a dazzling re-enactment of the famously controversial 1913 premiere of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, and though partly filmed in an actual Chanel manor, is ultimately a biopic of beautiful surfaces which speculates around some rather hazy historical facts. It could be said that Anna Mouglalis is closer match to the real Chanel than the softer temperament and features of Audrey Tautou, but Danish star Mikkelsen as the married Russian composer often seems outside his comfort zone.

1 star (Turkey) Neither of the title characters is at all sympathetic so as the audience, you are in no way concerned about their journey through the story. If you're a Chanelista who wants to know how Chanel No.5 came about, then by all means see it. ~The Myrka
