Mother Teresa
Aroview: What might have been a profound and inspirational story of the tiny nun who became an icon of the 20th Century, instead falls short of any real depth, giving us a kind of "hallmark version" of her life. Hussey brings a wonderful earnestness to the role, and gives the film it's spark, but it's a shame that the spiritual conflict which plagued Mother Teresa most of her religious life has merely been hinted at.
The film suffers further from a baffling editing job which has seen more than an hour cut from the version shown originally in Italy, resulting in a choppy, episodic story. But despite its faults, this film has it's heart in the right place, and still manages to be sincere and moving.
