French Kissers, The
Aroview: Gallic hormonal comedy about two unkempt, sex-obsessed adolescents and their wavering exploits with the school's most popular girl.
Is quite convincing in portraying bumbling, spots'n'all youth and has a tangy electro-pop soundtrack, but its aspirations for teenage poignancy are compromised by broad quirky comedy (which no doubt made it a 'date movie' hit in France). Proving that masturbation jokes are just as goofy in any language, this has to settle for being merely a "promising debut" by comic-book artist turned writer-director, Riad Sattouf.
