Rocket Science

Aroview: Pointy-headed comedy from the dir. of the documentary SPELLBOUND that switches the subject to high-school debating, and the travails of an unlikely candidate with a stutter.

Certainly in the Wes Anderson mould of nerd-smart comedy, and compares pretty well without being derivative, yet while freshman Reece Thompson carries a really likeable central presence, his awkward character isn't as much fun as Anna Kendrick's upstart, who has only a supporting role. Winner of the Best Director Award (Dramatic) at the Sundance Film Fest.
