Aroview: Tear duct busting melodrama of a young mother forced to make a horrifying decision in the wake of the 1976 Tangshan earthquake.

Maintaining credibility while inflicting all manner of tragedy on his protagonists is no mean feat, but this Spielbergian crowd-pleaser spanning thirty years, and improbably book-ended by earthquakes, is skillfully done on all levels.
