Insatiable Moon, The
Aroview: Heartfelt local feature has a self-proclaimed son of God setting out to save the world, save his boarding-house, and woo the Queen of Heaven, but not necessarily in that order.
Paratene and Wiseman give excellent performances, but one requires a leap of faith to believe their relationship as the script is too short-handed in this department. Meanwhile, the subplot about segregation against the underclass in the gentrified suburb of Ponsonby carries a worthy but clunkily-delivered message. Yet while lacking finesse, this independently financed film has its humorous side and overcame significant production odds to find more than a few converts at the local box office.
